Tacrolimus-induced Akathisia in a Post-cardiac Transplant Patient: A Case Report
Thamer S. Alhowaish, Yazeed Alotaibi, Meshari S. AlSudayri, Abdulmalik Alshoshan, Salma Al Qahtani
Akathisia, a prevalent drug-induced movement disorder, is characterized by inner restlessness and an irresistible urge to move. It can occur after starting a new medication, increasing the dose, or switching to another medication. It is commonly associated with, but not limited to antipsychotic use. Tacrolimus (TAC), an immunosuppressant vital for preventing acute rejection post-solid organ transplantation, has been linked to various neurological side effects. Neurotoxic side effects of TAC may include headache, seizures, tremor, encephalopathy, and peripheral pain. This report details a case of TAC-induced akathisia in a post-cardiac transplant patient, emphasizing the need for heightened clinical suspicion and awareness of this underreported phenomenon. The patient’s symptoms, including restlessness and an inability to sit still, were exacerbated by TAC, prompting a diagnosis and subsequent treatment for akathisia.

Cornual Ectopic Pregnancy: A Case Report
Fatma Al Falahi, Sama Matwani
Cornual ectopic pregnancy is a rare and life-threatening form of ectopic pregnancy. We present the case of a 37-year-old multiparous woman with this condition who was successfully managed with cornual wedge resection and ipsilateral salpingectomy. Cornual ectopic pregnancy is challenging to diagnose and requires prompt treatment. Laparoscopic resection and salpingectomy are viable surgical options that can minimize blood loss and reduce the risk of future complications.

Sternoclavicular joint dislocation (SCJD) is a rare injury, accounting for less than 1% of all dislocations. Posterior SCJD poses life-threatening risks due to its proximity to vital structures. We present a case of a 21-year-old male with traumatic left posterior SCJD from a road accident. Closed reduction failed, leading to open reduction and a figure-of-eight reconstruction using the semitendinosus tendon as an autograft. Prompt and tailored management is crucial in addressing such rare injuries effectively.
